drupal sequences table and you

If you've ever tried to import data into a Drupal install by directly manipulating a MySQL database (as opposed to using Drupal's content creation APIs), you've probably run into some hangups - namely having some collisions with nid's and vid's on future node creation. You would think that because the nid column in the node table auto increments, you'd have no problems with duplicate nids. Not so. Enter the sequences table.

Drupal 5 and Data Imports: devel, firebug, node_load, node_save, in_array = memory issues

Data imports are always a force to be reckoned with. Besides the logistical nightmare of mapping data, it's really easy to run into memory problems (especially when you're coding in PHP...). I have a fair amount of experience with data integrations, but until recently, I've never attempted data integrations via Drupal. I don't think I've ever slammed my head against the wall so many times.

vieleRETS 1.1.6 XML: encoding problems and a patch

Recently, I've been working on a module for Drupal 5 that integrates MLS listing feeds (which are handled by VieleRETS) with a site.  Everything has been going great - until I hit some character encoding issues with the XML for listings generated by VieleRETS.  What follows is a description of the problem as well as a link to a patch I've generated to resolve the issue.
